Integrative Muscle Plasticity Lab

The Hardee laboratory investigates the molecular mechanisms regulating skeletal muscle adaptation and plasticity in health and disease.

We accomplish this through genetic, pharmacological and exercise manipulations of muscle cell size and metabolism across species. The lab integrates omics-based methods with comprehensive assessments of muscle contractile and metabolic function from cells to whole animals.

The overarching goal is to advance the understanding of fundamental muscle biology and the development of novel therapies for muscle-related disorders such as cancer and muscular dystrophy.
