Biography

Basma Yacoubi, Ph.D., has been a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology since 2019. Her work focuses on sensorimotor control deficits in individuals with neurological pathologies involving the cerebellum. She is interested in developing novel strategies for rehabilitation of motor control deficits using at-home solutions. She has a broad interest in variability and its functional significance in biological systems

Research Interests

  • Distinct and convergent neuromuscular signatures of movement disorders
  • Rehabilitation of motor functions in diseases with cerebellar pathology
  • Motor output variability and motor learning

Classes

  • APK 4115 Neuromuscular Aspects of Exercise
  • PET 5936 Genetics of Human Performance
  • PCB 3063 Genetics
