Biography
Alisha Katz, APR, is an award-winning strategic communications professional and Communications Director at the University of Florida College of Health & Human Performance. With over a decade of experience in public relations and marketing, Katz specializes in healthcare communications, bringing expertise from both in-house and agency settings.
Prior to UF, Katz joined Real Chemistry (RC) and supported several data and regulatory milestone announcements for oncology and pain management products, elevating brand reputation domestically and globally. Through targeted media tactics, she also expanded awareness of certain disease types and the importance of biomarker testing to patients and providers. In addition to product communications and disease education, she aided in corporate communications, including conceptualizing and implementing an externally facing corporate responsibility campaign centered around a client’s commitment to acute pain management. Beyond her role in strategic product and corporate communications, she collaborated with RC’s Global Inclusion & Health Equity team.
Before joining RC, Katz was a marketing manager at UF Health, where she developed integrated marketing strategies and promoted clinical programs to bolster UF Health’s competitive edge in Southeast markets. During her tenure at UF Health, she oversaw communications across several health-related service lines, from transplantation and surgery to emergency medicine and pediatrics, and also supported UF Health’s media on-call team, assisting with issues and crisis management.
Her dedication and contributions to healthcare have earned industry recognition, including being named one of the Top 25 Hospital Marketers of 2021 in the U.S. by DTC Perspectives. In 2020, she was recognized as part of the Rising Star Class by the Society for Health Care Strategy and Market Development, which spotlights outstanding achievements in individuals under 40. In 2015, the Florida Public Relations Association recognized her leadership in the public relations sector as part of the Joe Curley Rising Leader Class.
She also serves as an adjunct lecturer in the UF College of Journalism & Communications.
